If you were asked, “What is Your Purpose?” while on an elevator ride, would you be able to articulate it before you get to your floor? I believe many people struggle to discover their purpose, let alone can articulate their purpose in a succinct way.
There are many people reasons for this. Check out my other blog post to find out. In short, many people have not intentionally reflected on their purpose and make it their life goal to discover it and express it.
The late Dr. Myles Monroe notes the mission-critical nature of discovering your purpose: “You must realize that your fulfillment in life is dependent on your becoming and doing what you were born to do. Anything less makes life your enemy and death your friend. It is essential, vital, crucial and necessary that you understand this fundamental principle of purpose and pursue it with all your heart” [1]
Since discovering your purpose is significant for your life fulfillment and impact, here are three models that can help you develop your purpose elevator pitch
The “Find Your Why” Model
Simon Sinek, author of the book, Find Your Why: A Practical Guide for Discovering Purpose for You and Your Team. Lays the groundwork to help individuals and teams discover their purpose. Your purpose is comprised of the contribution you make in the lives of others and the impact of your contribution.

My WHY is to inspire and equip individuals and organizations to clarify their purpose and make big plays and bold moves toward fulfilling it so that they will produce lasting positive transformation in the world.
The contribution: To inspire and equip individuals and organizations to clarify and fulfill their purpose.
The impact: So that they will produce lasting positive transformation in the world.
Take stab at crafting your Why Statement. What’s your contribution? What’s the impact?
The “Sweet Spot” Master Tool
The “Sweet Spot” Master tool is developed by Will Mancini, author of Younique: Designing the Life that God Dreamed for You [2] The tool is comprised of three sub-tools if you will:

Below is an example of what came up with because of using the tool:
Sweet Spot Tool #1: Signature Scripture
“A plan in the heart of a man is like deep water, but a man of understanding draws it out” (Proverbs 20:5, NASB).
Sweet Spot tool #2: Big Sentence
I am created to honor God and help others by leveraging my abilities to lead, encourage, teach, coach, prophesy, provide insight, and think strategically, with a passion for Individual and societal transformation, motivating and equipping, both in the local and global context
Sweet Spot #3: Two words
I exist to honor God and help others by igniting transformation
See how you can articulate your purpose in two words.
The Value Proposition Tool
The value proposition tool is borrowed from Michael Hyatt, from his course on Platform University

My Value Proposition Statement:
I am a kingdom theologian and a life and leadership coach. I help people understand Christ’s Kingdom so that they can experience its reality, express its impact, and fulfill their purpose in the world as God’s change agents (Ministry)
I am a playmaker. I help individuals and organizations clarify their purpose and make big plays and bold moves toward fulfilling it so that they will produce lasting positive transformation in the world. (Marketplace)
Take some time and craft your value proposition.
